As a healthcare leader, Prof. Abdel Rahman Ahmed Omer has held several senior positions, including Group Medical Director, Chief Medical Officer, and Head of the Surgical Division. These roles complement his lifelong dedication to clinical healthcare as a colorectal, laparoscopic, and general surgeon, with experience across four continents, including Europe, North America, and the GCC. His commitment to clinical excellence and super-specialization is evident through numerous research publications, chapter contributions, and authored books. He is also deeply engaged in undergraduate teaching, postgraduate training, CPD, and CME activities.
Throughout his executive career, Prof. Omer has supported the organization in achieving a AAA rating in ESG, introduced disruptive innovations such as AI, and led the shift from volume-based to value-based healthcare. He successfully launched new service lines that transformed the institution from a profit-focused model to one driven by quality, productivity, and efficiency, resulting in a strong triple bottom line. Additionally, he established and implemented comprehensive clinical governance structures and played a key role in strengthening overall corporate governance.
