Dr. María Liliana Chacón Patiño is an experienced Consultant in Pulmonology with an extensive international background in respiratory and internal medicine. She earned her Doctor of Medicine (M.D.), graduating cum laude from the Universidad de Los Andes in Mérida, Venezuela, in 1998, laying a strong academic foundation for her medical career.
She completed her Rotating Internship at Hospital Central de San Cristóbal (2001), followed by an Internal Medicine Residency at Hospital Dr. Patrocinio Peñuela Ruiz in Venezuela (2003). To further advance her clinical expertise, she undertook an Internal Medicine Observership at Hospital Gregorio Marañón in Madrid, Spain (2004). Her specialization in Pulmonology was completed at Hospital Universitario y Politécnico La Fe in Valencia, Spain (2009), complemented by advanced training in Pulmonary Hypertension at Antoine-Béclère Hospital in Clamart, France the same year.
Dr. Chacón Patiño has continued to refine her expertise through postgraduate education, including a Master’s Degree in Diagnosis and Treatment of Airway Diseases from Universidad Católica de San Antonio in Murcia, Spain (2017). She also holds a specialization in Bronchiectasis from Universidad de Alcalá, Madrid (2016), and an Expert Diploma in Tobacco-Related Diseases from the Spanish Society of Pulmonology (2010).
Dr. Chacón Patiño worked as a Consultant Pulmonologist at Hospital Son Llàtzer, Palma de Mallorca, Spain, from 2009 to 2017, and at Advanced Cure Diagnostic Center, Abu Dhabi, UAE, from 2022 to 2025.
